Skype for iPhone and iPad now has a video messaging feature. You can send short pre-recorded messages to friends and family from the app.
This is useful if you catch something cool, and want to quickly share it with friends on Skype. If they aren’t online, they will receive it when they get back and check Skype.
Here’s a portion of Skype’s official blog post explaining the process:
- First, tap the “video message” button.
- Next, tap the record button to capture your video message.
- You can record a message of up to three minutes, which can be previewed prior to sending. If you’d like to, you can delete and re-record until you are completely happy with it.
- When you are ready, simply click on the envelope icon to send your video message to the recipient.
Seems easy enough. We can send videos through each other in many other ways, but this may come in handy if you just want to send something to a Skype friend.
