We recently learned that Apple is now repairing iPhone 5 handsets in-store. It will cost you quite a bit if you crack your screen and need it replaced. Now Apple has machine to fix things, and the Genius doesn’t have to do it themselves.
We have no idea how the complicated machine above works, but it’s said that it should save consumers a lot of money (and probably Apple, too). This is because previously, they needed a replacement handset, which ran $229. The repair is $149, or $49 with AppleCare, which pretty much totals up to the same amount since AppleCare is $99.
The machine does look kind of cool.
