Someone hacked Apple’s developer site last week, the company has acknowledged. It’s not yet clear if any developer information such as names, mailing addresses, email addresses, etc. were compromised, but Apple isn’t ruling out the possibility.
This news comes shortly after Apple closed the site for maintenance. The company then sent out emails to developers explaining the situation. However, the company does say that the sensitive information was encrypted, and it’s working on “completely overhauling our developer systems, updating our sever software, and rebuilding our entire database.”
No customer information was compromised, says the company. That info is encrypted, and it isn’t part of the developer site in any way.
Any developers with memberships set to expire during this period are automatically extended.
