Bob Mansfield Disappears From Apple’s Leadership Page

Bob Mansfield, formerly Apple’s SVP of technologies is no longer on the company’s leadership page.

It’s not clear why he’s no longer on the page, but according to Apple, Mansfield is still with the company. He’s just no longer on the executive team, because he is taking on “special projects” and will be reporting directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Interestingly, Mansfield did leave Apple for a while about a year ago. Later, when Apple fired Scott Forstall (who was notoriously difficult to work with, and not very well-liked by other Apple leaders) Mansfield returned. We heard that his return was not a direct result of the firing, but it definitely helped in his decision to come back.
