Apple is launching its rumored trade-in program today at its store.
It’s official, and it begins today. Details are still coming in, but Apple is calling it a “reuse and recycling” program and is taking in iPhone 4 and newer. That money, however, must go into a new, on-contract iPhone.
The timing of this is worth noting as Apple is expected to launch the next line of iPhones in September. We will likely hear about them on September 10 with a launch on September 20. Perhaps eager iPhone owners will trade in their older handsets during that time and make the upgrade to the new device.
