The iPad 5 and the iPad mini 2 should arrive at some point this year. We don’t know if they will debut at Apple’s September 10 event. Our guess is that it will be iPhone-specific. However, the new iPad line can’t be far behind. Let’s take a quick look at what we know about the next iPad models.
1) iPad 5 will have a thinner bezel
The iPad 5 will have a much thinner side bezel, if rumors are correct, it will match the proportions of the iPad mini.
2) iPad 5 will be the first major change to the design since the iPad 2
The iPad 5 will also be the first major design change since the iPad 2. Apple’s tablet hasn’t changed much in the past few years. It’s due for an update. This is when Apple will update it.
3) iPad mini 2 will have a Retina display
The iPad mini 2 will get the much-needed Retina update. This is something the current mini is lacking, and it pushes away many potential buyers. This would truly help make the iPad mini a very desirable tablet.
4) Smaller than current iPad, but same-sized screen
The iPad 5 will be smaller overall than the current iPad. It will be thinner and lighter. However, this will be thanks to new components and a thinner bezel. The screen itself will remain the same size. A lighter iPad would be very welcome.
