Apple is now allowing for children under 13 to have their own iTunes accounts, reports MacWorld.
This wasn’t available before. The catch? The children must be approved by parents, and they must be approved by an educational institution. This is all part of Apple’s plan to move iPads and other iOS devices into the classroom.
Apple is also updating its multi-device management tools (Configurator) to reflect these updates. This is an important change for educational institutions. We will see how it goes for them.
