According to reports, Apple has acquired Matcha.tv, a startup TV/video app.
Venturebeat cites an anonymous source familiar with the matter. Matcha.tv was an app for iOS that gave users an overview of shows available across several cable providers and streaming services as well as digital video stores like iTunes, explains the original report.
The service shut down a while back, but CEO Guy Piekarz said the company was headed in a new direction. According to Venturebeat, Piekarz would not comment on the acquisition, and Apple gave its regular PR statement saying that it regularly makes acquisitions.
