Above is a render of what the rumored low-cost iPhone may look like
According to a report from AllThingsD, which is usually very accurate with its Apple rumors, Apple should hold its iPhone 5s event on September 10.
The iPhone 5S has been rumored for some time, and it fits within Apple’s usual update pattern and naming convention. Different, however, are the rumors of a low-cost iPhone, right now rumored to be called the iPhone 5C. If real, it’s roughly the same size as the iPhone 5, but has a plastic body.
It seems like a good step for Apple right now. Many may criticize the company for such a move, but Apple does need something to compete with some of the available low-priced Android handsets. This is only a choice for consumers. They always have the option of the iPhone 5S. A lower-cost iPhone would be a likely sell for those who want to use Apple’s devices, but don’t want a high cost.
