Apple’s FaceTime Fix Causing Problems for Many Users

This is a case of the patent system doing us wrong. VirnetX filed a patent suit against Apple for technology used in FaceTime. Unfortunately, VirnetX wanted Apple to pay millions per month to license it’s patents. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call a patent troll.

However, the problem becomes that it affects users negatively. Rather than pay, Apple has to find workaround technology. Now users are experiencing issues with FaceTime. It’s reported that the company may have redesigned things on the backend. Now it’s not working correctly for many. This is a problem for Apple and its end users.
