Microsoft recently launched an ad campaign poking fun at the iPhone. This is called ‘Fly on the Wall.”
It’s a campaign that features mock Apple meetings in which employees pitch iPhone ideas to a CEO (who resembles the late Steve Jobs in the constant, behind-the-CEO’s-head view) and another actor in the ads looks somewhat like Jony Ive.
Below is a video that seems to feature a likeness to Steve Jobs. Though reports say he is referred to as Tim in the videos, it seems that the Jobs thing was more for recognition.
However, it was seen as being in poor taste by many critical of the ads, Microsoft pulled them and told CNET that it was “intended to be a lighthearted poke at our friends in Cupertino. But it was off the mark, and we’ve decided to pull it down.”
Yeah, it wasn’t a great ad campaign, but then again, what Microsoft ad is? (Honestly, that’s not some Apple fanboy dig at Microsoft ads. Remember the Surface ads? Remember the ads with Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld? Yeah.)
