Geeze. The iPad 5 isn’t even a real thing yet and rumors of an iPad 6 are already starting. Then again, that’s no surprise. Either way, the iPad 6 is said to be in development for a 2014 launch.
That’s expected. After all, it’s been a yearly update for the iPad (well, two in 2012) and now we are likely to see the iPad 5 later this month.
Interestingly, the rumor comes from KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo. In other words, the rumor has some merit as he’s been pretty good with this sort of stuff in the past. Still, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his misses.
Here’s a portion of his report:
In light [of] advancing Oxide and a-Si technologies, the PPI of iPad 6, which we expect to come out at end-2014, will exceed that of 2013’s iPad 5 by 30-40%, which will offer more competent visuals.
Yeah. He doesn’t just make things up for kicks. He has some good sources that fill him in on things that Apple may be planning or are at the very least testing.
