Apple’s sales rose 27 percent in Japan over true 2013 fiscal year.
The Cupertino company is popular in Japan, according to reports. That’s pretty interesting, because (though we don’t have first-hand experience) we’ve often heard that Japan isn’t as receptive to American technology companies. For instance, Microsoft and the Xbox never seem to do quite as well as Nintendo and the PlayStation brand.
According to the report, it has a lot to do with the fact that Apple is viewed as a luxury brand along the lines of Louis Vuitton. They also mention that Samsung has a fairly small presence. This also gives Apple a bit more share, especially when it comes to smartphones and tablets, both of which Samsung is a major competitor for.
