FCC May Eventually Allow In-Flight Phone Calls

The Federal Communications Commission will consider allowing phone calls from cellphones while planes are in flight.  Currently, being on the phone while flying will get you in a load of trouble, but this could change that.

We’re seeing more and more of these restrictions being lifted. Recently, we learned that the ban on in-flight electronics during takeoff and landing has lifted, but we will see when that becomes the norm. During a meeting to be held Dec. 12, 2013, the agency will take a vote in these rules. That said, phone calls would still be restricted to cruising altitude. No use during takeoff and landing.
