Hacker Gets iOS Core Running on Nokia N900

iOS Core on Nokia

Above is the core of iOS. It’s kind of like a behind-the-scenes look at Apple’s mobile operating system.

Website CultofMac describes it well: An operating system’s core is just a bunch of text that tells things how to work when you’re using your iPhone. According to the post, it’s not something that can only run on the N900. It will work on several ARM and OMAP chips.

It’s kind of cool, but they also say not to expect too much from it. It’s most likely that this was just a hacker trying see what he could make happen. Even if he gets iOS running on his device, the average person probably won’t be able to do it.
