That’s a lot of iPhones. According to a recent report, Americans spend more than $5 billion on iPhone upgrades or switching to the handset every year.
That comes from MarketWatch (via CultofMac). It goes on to say that Apple makes up 41 percent of the US smartphone market. It also mentions that Americans spend more than $11 billion upgrading their smartphones each year (of which $5 billion are iPhones.)
That’s pretty wild. CultofMac also claims that those sales alone would be enough to build the Apple 2 campus.
