The iPad Air saw a 51 percent rise in activations over the Black Friday weekend. We already know that Apple’s iPad line did well on Friday, at least at Walmart and Target.
The data comes form Localytics. It tracks the number of devices that show up through its network across 20,000 apps and more than a billion devices, as MacRumors reports. They saw iPad Air usage rise 51 percent over the previous weekend.
The iPad mini (first-gen) saw a rise of about 26 percent while the 2nd gen mini saw slower growth of 17 percent.
As the report says, this only shows us devices that are currently being used. There is no way for Localytics to track how many iPads have been purchased, but are being kept in the box as Christmas gifts.
