According to rumors, Apple has hired Tim Gudgel, the fellow responsible for designing Apple’s retail stores.

The rumor comes from The Information (via MacLife). This is part of Samsung’s initiative to move further into the US retail space.

According to the report, Gudgel has worked for the Gehry Firm and is known as one of the investors for Apple’s Upper West Side retail store in New York.  According to reports, Samsung’s store in Australia seems to mirror Apple’s stores.

For now, it’s not clear what the plans are, but maybe Samsung will try to do more with its stores than just rebrand an Apple Store.
