That didn’t take long. Nintendo has flat out denied rumors that it will release minigames or demos for mobile devices such as the iPhone and Android platforms.
The original report came from Japanese newspaper Nikkei. We heard about it yesterday.
Website Engadget reached out to Nintendo, and the game-maker said “Nintendo’s intention is not to make Nintendo software available on smart devices and as such, we can confirm that there are no plans to offer mini-games on smartphone devices.”
That said, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata did speak in past conferences saying that the company isn’t opposed to the idea of using smartphones and tablets to promote products. That would most likely be advertising of some sort — not games.
