Apple TV was always touted as “a hobby” by Steve Jobs. However, the set-top box pulled in over $1 billion in 2013, according to the Cupertino tech giant. This information comes from Apple’s annual stockholders meeting.
That’s not bad for a hobby. Actually, Tim Cook said “it’s a little more difficult to call it a hobby these days.” That’s not bad. In fact, MacRumors says that it’s Apple’s fastest-growing device as far as hardware goes.
That said, the number doesn’t only include actual devices sold. It means content sold on the device itself. That’s a lot of movie rentals.
