If you’re about privacy, you have to hand it to Apple for sticking to its guns. The Cupertino folks insist on keeping user data private. In fact, it’s so insistent that it’s hurting iAd sales.
This is because advertisers often want to know certain things about consumers: where they live, what they like to purchase, etc. However, many consumers don’t like for that information to be shared. Apple doesn’t seem to like it, either. That, or it wants to maintain goodwill with its users and would rather lose advertisers than customers.
Well, it’s not as if Apple needs the extra cash. It already makes boatloads.
