Nintendo is a big name in the gaming and software world. Normally, iOS devices and Nintendo don’t go together. However, it becomes interesting when one of Nintendo’s investors, Seth Fischer of Oasis Management, urges the company president, Satoru Iwata, to create games for mobile devices such as iPhone and iPad.
While such a move could mean good things for Nintendo (It would bring more potential buyers) Nintendo is very stubborn about not creating games for other platforms. As website CultofMac puts it, Nintendo is much like Apple in that it likes control over its hardware and software. Nintendo doesn’t want to release games for a platform that it didn’t build.
However, that can also be a problem. On one hand, it’s good to see Nintendo care so deeply about it’s intellectual properties that it doesn’t want to release them for another gaming system. The bad thing is that this is shutting out a huge potential market for the videogame maker.
