We already have touch-controlled phones and tablets. Apple’s trackpads and mice are also all multitouch. It’s no surprise that Apple would patent an idea for a MacBook chassis that allows for touch controls.
This could allow for simple controls such as volume, or the user could touch around the FaceTime camera to launch a call.
It’s a cool concept, but for now it’s just a newly-granted patent. It may be a while before Apple implements the idea, if ever.
