If you own an iPad or iPhone, you can watch the Oscars on your device with the Watch ABC app. Unfortunately, there is a catch.
According to website MacLife, you must be a paid cable subscriber. Further limiting things is that it must be on a subscriber such as Comcast, Cablevision, Cox, Charter, Midcontinent Communications, Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber or AT&T U-Verse. Furthermore, it only works in limited markets.
In other words, most of the US won’t be able to stream it. ABC will, however, offer a second screen option for the rest of us. This means you can read factoids and additional information about the 86th annual Academy Awards while you watch it on your TV. If you’re a cord cutter like myself, well … tough.
