In-app purchases have caught Apple and app makers a lot of flack over the past two years or so. It’s because kids have been known to rack up hundreds, even thousands of dollars worth of virtual goods in free-to-play games with in-app purchasing. Imagine their parents’ surprise when they see that credit card statement.

Now, when you make an in-app purchase on your iPhone or iPad, you will see a pop-up notification that informs you that you can make the purchases for the next 15 minutes before you will have to re-enter your password if you want to buy anything else. Also, it allows you to go to your iPhone settings to change the option and require a password for every purchase. This again ensures that children don’t go buying stuff without Mom and Dad’s permission.
