According to a new report, OS X Mavericks is accounting for nearly half of web traffic coming from Macs.

This information comes from web analytics firm Chitika (via CultofMac). This is a pretty high adoption rate, but it’s worth remembering that Mavericks is a free update. Even to those who haven’t updated Mac OS in years.

Mavericks being a free update definitely contributed to its fast adoption rate. It also works on several computers, even some much older models such as 2008 MacBooks.
