Above is a picture of an iPhone 5. It’s ruined, but at least the man who was carrying it in his pocket is alive today.
Staff Sgt. Shaun Frank was helping his unit overturn another unit’s vehicle when a suicide bomber approached him. Standing just a few feet away, the teenaged suicide bomber detonated the bomb and Frank was hit with shrapnel.
He lucked out, however. An iPhone 5 in his left pant pocket caught a piece of metal ball bearing that would have otherwise ripped through his leg and hit an area of major arteries.
Well, it’s good to hear that Sgt. Frank made it.
