Apple wants to prevent accidents that involve texting while driving. This could turn out to be a very useful feature as texting while driving is becoming a big killer. Just the other day while driving along the expressway I saw a sign that said “Drive Now, Text Later.” That just goes to show how much of a problem it is becoming.
Apple hopes to prevent that with a technology that will reduce the incidence of texting while driving. It seems entirely possible that Apple could use the iPhone’s motion sensors and the M7 co-processor to somehow detect when a user is driving.
Let’s see if Apple goes forward with this idea.
